This was a really nice shelter. It can't be booked. So getting there early is pretty key to making sure to have a shelter. There are, however, several other shelters and camping areas nearby as backup.

Kernehuset is the clubhouse of the local hiking club "Gribskovens Hårde Kerne". Good break place. Unfortunately the forest toilet is only for members ...

New shelters were set up at Esrum Lake in 2021. Apparently the shelters cannot be booked. First come first serve. All shelters have a bench in front of them and a fireplace and access to the lake. As far as I know, Glas- & Gulålen is the only double shelter on the lake.

This house is run by volunteers and is open to visitors. It boasts a unique location, right on the lake.
