The dam is actually a headland that connects the land with a bridge at the western end. It is well maintained and has many benches (some of which are covered). It is simply lovely to stroll between the lakes. Cyclists, runners, walkers, everyone can get through.

Beautiful view of the lake possible. On the rest of the eastern shore, trees and undergrowth mostly block the direct view. If you come here from the southeast, it is somehow "liberating" because you can finally see what you have been cycling past the whole time 😃

Playground with a view

The circuit is about 2 km. It started at the easternmost tip and went along the headland between Falkenhagener See and Neuer See to the small bridge that connects this headland to the land. You could take a break here, as there are toilet facilities, coffee, ice cream and a playground. Then it continues east again along the southern bank. While there are signs everywhere prohibiting swimming, there is a sandy bathing area at the end of the path.

Incredible section for running, cycling, walking, whatever :-). The section separates the Falkenhagener lake and the new lake and is incredibly idyllic. Also many benches to relax and enjoy can be found there.

If you want to circle the Falkenhagener lake, you come to a distance of ca.5km. Right next to it is the New Lake with a landscaped swimming area. It is much smaller and artificially created. Separated by the small dam, nice to walk around with a view of both lakes at the same time.
