The Water Outflow (Cooling Water Inflow) A distinctive feature of Offlumer See is an area where slightly warmed cooling water is fed into the lake. This inflow has an interesting ecological effect: Ice-free in winter: Thanks to the slight warming, this area along the shore usually remains ice-free, even during severe frost. Bird paradise: This attracts numerous water birds in winter, which find open water and food there when the rest of the lake is already frozen over. For nature observers, this "water outflow" is therefore a particular highlight during the colder months.

🔔 The "Klöcksken von Offlum" is a charming historical stop on the circular hiking trail around Lake Offlum in Neuenkirchen. However, it is not a classic monastery complex with preserved buildings, but rather a memorial site steeped in local history.

The seating is reminiscent of modern art/architecture. The view is still pure nature and magnificent.

You can take beautiful hikes around Lake Offlum and you can eat very well in the café/restaurant "Ewige Liebe".
