A fabulous ride up (or down) through this river valley in the Val de Bagnes region. Your destination being the end of the road at the imposing Barrage de Mauvoisin.

A gorge certainly worth seeing. In particular, the wooden walkways and stairs on the rock are impressive. You walk the gorge from bottom to top. Turning back doesn't make much sense because it's quite narrow. In other words, you go up once and then leave the gorge to hike down again via a forest path. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's worth 9 CHF...

Very pretty Swiss valley along the Dranse. Starting from the Col de Feret (2,490 meters), on the Italian border, the valley passes through La Fouly and Orsières and is part of the famous Tour du Mont-Blanc.

French: Built in 1877, completely renovated in 1987, the Durnand Gorges offer a breathtaking spectacle which has earned them the distinction of being ranked among the ten most beautiful in Europe. Located in the town of Bovernier, the visible part of the Gorges du Durnand extends for approximately 1 kilometer. It is accessed by a small path which suddenly transforms into a route of suspended wooden footbridges and stairs (330 steps in total). Under his feet, the water of the Durnand rolls, bubbles, swirls, bouncing with a crash in a succession of 14 waterfalls, each more impressive than the last. Over hill and dale and always uphill, the route first goes through the forest, so it's nice and cool, and the last stretch is on the slope to La Breya mountain station. You keep getting great views!
