The Étang du Buron is a small, picturesque pond in the Vaud Jura, above Yverdon-les-Bains. Originally created artificially, it served to store water for agriculture. Today, it is a tranquil natural setting with high ecological value. The pond is surrounded by wet meadows, open forests, and species-rich riparian zones. Amphibians, dragonflies, and numerous birds use the area as a habitat. The Étang du Buron is easily accessible for walkers and cyclists and is a popular local recreation destination. Information boards and well-maintained paths invite you to explore nature in a relaxed atmosphere.

Very nice sandy beach, perfect for relaxing.

Camp Pittet is the ideal place to immerse yourself in protected nature. There are two options (apart from the fact that there are also guided tours). Either you go along the paths on your own and climb the viewing platform, or you go to the center, including the exhibition and more, and can then immerse yourself in nature - without having to cross the main street (pedestrian tunnel). The last variant has the advantage that you can also visit the observation station when you enter (code-secured). Beautiful large sandy beach. Playground and restaurant at the Menthue campsite in the East. Out of season, accessible by bike (be careful of the sand in the cogs). A Mediterranean atmosphere separates the beach from the road. View towards the North along the length of Lake Neuchâtel.

A lovely, relaxing spot for a break. There's a fire pit at one of the cabins. Picnic tables. No swimming.
