On my second "Around Germany" cycling trip (this time going left-handed), I cycled along the Swiss side of Lake Constance. Even though the bike paths were consistently beautiful, most of the route was boring – the German side of the Lake Constance Cycle Route is much more varied and beautiful.

Created in the 15th century for fish farming, Hauptwil's five ponds are now an idyllic local recreation area and are protected. The Horbacher Weier is the middle of the five ponds.

Ten nostalgic bathing houses that were built between Kesswil and Uttwil between 1929 and 1934 can be found along this route.
