You can take a nice rest in front of the hut... a few steps down there is a nice viewpoint

A detour to the Althüsli is worthwhile, unfortunately it was closed today (Wednesday).

The Althüsli Restaurant can be reached from the west from Schauenburg via Müren, with some very steep sections. From the southeast, via the Waldstrasse from Lommiswil. Towards the east, you can already see the Hinterweissenstein Restaurant.

Beautifully situated, typical Emmentaler Hornusserhütte. Large grill, covered seating, lounge, gastro buffet. Can be rented for birthday or family celebrations.

There are a few parking spaces at the Selzacher Forsthaus hut. You can use it as a starting point for various bike tours. For example, to cycle up to the Schauenburg or the Althüsli. Less demanding destinations are e.g. the quarry with the dinosaur tracks or Oberdorf. There is also a fire pit.

The Chalet Gitziflue is located on the hiking trail from the Gitziflue via Gräte to Oberdorf. It has seating and a large grill with rust. Ideal for roasting and strengthening yourself before the difficult descent.

Good opportunity for a refreshment and simple strengthening on the way from or to the Weissenstein.
