Very well maintained castle and garden. Also a very beautiful view towards the west and the Stockhorn range.

A nice place to stay and with children to play in the playground. A restaurant is located in the castle estate.

You cannot go all the way to the ruins on a bike. We were allowed to park our bikes with the friendly farmer below the ruins.

Very well preserved ruin. Wonderful foresight. Historical: history The castle was the ancestral seat of the Barons von Signau. The family was first mentioned in 1130 under Werner von Signau. The castle served to protect and control the route between Emmental and Aare valley. In the middle of the 14th century the castle was given up in favor of Neu-Signau Castle. The ruin is comparatively well preserved (remains of the wall).
