The stars were singing above us, and only the sound of our boots crunching the frozen trails broke the silence. After enjoying this unforgettable moment, we carefully descended back to Base Camp for a well- deserved lunch, and later continued to Shree Kharka, tired but full of memories. This side trip is not easy - the altitude, the cold, the long hours - but the reward is something words can hardly describe.

Deurali to Annapurna base camp distance is approx. 8 km. Situated at an elevation of approx. 3200 m, you will gain about 950 m elevation at the ABC. Trail ascends gradually and takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Annapurna base camp. The trail goes past Machhapuchre Base Camp at an elevation of approx. 3700 m. You can see a breathtaking view of the mountain from here.

Just at the right place for a stopover to have some refreshments. This small village on route from Chomrong to Dovan lies at an altitude of approx. 2350 m. Great view of the mountains with a sip of a cuppa.
