The hut is close to Hrabrino, there is an asphalt road there, but you have to cross a narrow bridge - not every car can pass, but there is enough space to stop before the bridge. The hunting lodge is about 2 hours from Velingrad. The walk up there is very pleasant with no steep sections. Next to the shelter there is a large clearing and a fountain that is NOT suitable for drinking.

Lukata is actually the normal end point of the path that leads up the river from Devin. Going further in the gorge is problematic, even if paths along the river towards Golyam Beglik via Kimerov Most and Toshkovo are marked on Komoot maps. The best option for another hike is the path to Stanilovo Bardo, which climbs steeply behind the hut. From Stanilovo Bardo is up to about 1450m above sea level. NN on the mountain slope a way back to Devin e.g. via Ravne possible. Other possible destinations: Shiroka Polyana, Borino or Teschel and Kosi Rog in the vicinity. Otherwise there is a place to rest with table and benches before returning to Devin - either along the river through the canyon or on the other side of the river via Kaleto back to the Strulitza outdoor pool.
