The top of the waterfall can be reached from the Rila Lakes. The path is covered in places. The view is worth it, but the descent to Skakavitsa hut requires good shoes because it is very steep.

Summer and spring are a great picnic spot. The walk to the waterfall takes about 4-5 hours on foot in one direction, starting from the upper end of the village of Bistritsa where there is parking.
