Climbing to the summit of Mount Spokane via the Park Drive offers a rewarding journey through beautiful inland Northwest forests, culminating in spectacular panoramic views stretching across Washington, Idaho, and sometimes even towards Canada. Starting from the lower park elevations northeast of Spokane, you'll face a sustained ascent for the main climb of approximately 7-9 miles, gaining around 2,600-3,000 ft to reach the 5,880 ft summit and its historic Vista House. Prepare for a challenging effort with a steep average gradient of around 7-8%, featuring relentless sections pushing 10% or more, especially on the upper mountain.
