Broholm Castle is located in the beautiful landscape of South Funen. With its towers, moat, and park, it seems to have stepped straight out of a fairytale. Broholm's history can be dated back to 1326. Over time, the castle changed owners several times, finally coming into the possession of the Sehested family in 1730, to whom it now belongs in the 13th generation. The castle gave its name to a rare Danish dog breed, the Broholmer. Chamberlain N.F.B. Sehested bred this breed until 1850, thus ensuring its spread in Denmark. The castle also gave its name to the apple variety Broholm Æblet, also called Broholm Rosenæble. The mother tree, whose age could be traced back to 1866, stood in the castle park. Today, several of these apple trees can be found in the park and meadows around the castle. Broholm Castle is incredibly idyllic with a park, a manor lake, moats and a watermill just west of Nyborg-Svendborg Road (163) halfway between Hesselager and Oure. In front of the castle lake is the museum "Chamberlain N.F.B. The over 700-year-old Broholm Castle, with its park and small lake, is located in the middle of a beautiful landscape. Today it also houses a hotel and a restaurant.

Nice resting place on cycle route 45 with a view of the Kerteminde Fjord and Ulriksholm Castle, which was completed in 1645.

If you cycle one of the routes No. 8, 50 or 51, you can make a short stop on the 250-meter-long dam that separates the Holckenhavn Fjord from the Great Belt. To the side in the direction of Nyborg there is a seating area for a rest. The fjord is about 2 kilometers long and a rich bird life can be observed in the nature reserve all year round. Although there are several cycle routes and road 163, there is unfortunately no specially designated cycle path in the direction of Holckenhavn Castle.

Kongshøj Mill was built around 1850 under Gut Glorup. A hammer mill and a flour mill were operated. The mill developed into a larger company with up to 30 employees and was operated until after World War II. A turbine was later connected to produce electricity. The weir dams the Kongshøj Å river at a height of 7 meters. In 1998, a 650 meter long circuit with a resting pool was created for the fish. The mill is privately owned. At the large mill pond there is a parking lot and a publicly accessible green area with tables and benches, an ideal place for a break.
