It is not the highest mountain on the island, but it has a magnificent 360° view and can be reached by MTB or an all-terrain vehicle.

The views from this mountain are absolutely stunning. The climb from Votsalakia is pretty tough. If you wish to climb this mountain I recommend good, solid hiking shoes/boots, nordic walking sticks (after the 2nd monastery the path is pretty much non-existent, it’s all just loose stones. The sticks really help) and water. Lots and lots of water. We did the climb in June and had 4L of water with us (per person). It was enough to go to the top and back. At the top of the mountain we found a big, metal military coffer with a notebook in it. This notebook contains the names of the people who have reached the top. You should definitely not forget to put yours in there too! The view is absolutely worth the tough climb.

Chapel on the mountain of the same name. The chapel offers a wonderful view and, as always, seating in front of the entrance to rest. The path up from the monastery follows the 29 and goes through loosely wooded area. You can either go back the same way or continue on 29. From here, however, the path from the underground becomes much more strenuous because it is very uneven.

Breathtaking nature, rugged rocks and a narrow path into the gorge.

You should definitely have made the detour. But do not forget sturdy shoes!
