The church of Metamorfosi is dedicated to the prophet Elijah, who in Greek mythology is equated with the god Helios and is considered the protector of the island. The church is simple and painted white, with a small bell tower and a red roof. Inside, several icons and candles create a reverent and quiet atmosphere.

The climb is worth it, you have a wonderful view over the landscape and the Aegean Sea

Very, very rewarding. I personally climbed the summit in snow (mid-May). The last part from Skala to Mytika was absolutely not easy and requires experience hiking and climbing in less than optimal conditions, at least in snow. The summit is still highly recommended and is certainly a lot easier in season. :)

The climb has a climbing feel. At the steepest point, a rope assists the climb. At the rocky summit, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view.

A beautiful hike in a deserted area. I highly recommend it, especially now in spring.

The small summit chapel Metamorphosis is open, and inside you can admire icons that are more than 100 years old.

Can only be reached by climbing, but here you are at the top and it's definitely worth it!

Can only be reached with not very easy, but rope-free climbing. Only for those with a head for heights! Very rewarding!
