The SEO Thessaloniki Refuge is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, nestled in a beautiful forest of beech and chestnut trees. It is typically open on weekends and holidays, offering a cozy spot for hikers to rest, enjoy a coffee, or eat a hot meal. The facility can accommodate up to 22 people for overnight stays in bunk beds, provided you book in advance with the SEO Thessaloniki club. It serves as a critical junction for trails leading to the Kolosourtis peak, the Icemakers' path, and the "Paliomilos" route. The refuge provides a reliable water source and shelter, making it the most popular meeting point for the local hiking community.

The original route continues here, but the path is difficult to find. The old trail is overgrown with tall grass and blackberries. Look for the new path in front of the hut, but don't take the wide farm track.

The bench with a roof is now quite overgrown, but you can still see into the distance.

Sturdy house made of solid stone Open on weekends. Located in a very beautiful spot. Lovely spacious yard with plenty of benches and tables.

Scenic river canyon right next to the town of Litohoro. A road leads down to some riverside restaurants. The Hellenic Mountaineering Association hut and information center is just before the descent into the gorge, for information about climbing the mountains around Mt Olympus.

I stayed here for two days. Highly recommended. Small apartments with a kitchen and free parking. Right on the edge of Palaios Panteleimon. You can't drive into the village anyway. Kostas, the landlord, is incredibly nice. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stay there again.

A stopover if you are on the way to Mitikas. Here you can buy food and drinks. Souvenirs and equipment are also available. If you need a helmet, you can rent one here. The landlady is very nice and she speaks English and German. You can not only stay in the hut, but you can also sleep in a tent if you have brought one with you.
