From the summit cross and the rest area you have a beautiful view of the village of Dolno Sonje below and the surrounding mountains

At the summit of Skopj's local mountain, Vodno, at an altitude of 1,040 meters, the cross is a 66-meter-high and 42-meter-wide steel framework structure. The cross is a symbolic construct. The foundation consists of four pillars, representing the four evangelists. The lower level has 12 pillars, representing the 12 apostles. The cross is constructed of 33 stories, representing the 33 years of Jesus' life. The Millennium Cross was inaugurated in 2002. The cross is illuminated at night and can be seen from all over the city.

Breathtaking views over Skopje and the Shar Planina and Solunska Glava mountains await. From here, the marked hiking trail descends into the Matka Gorge. The descent is very steep, rocky, and strenuous in parts. However, there are no exposed sections. Caution: In the warmer months, cows apparently graze in the meadows around Kale. I could hear them through their bells and walked past them at a distance.

At the beginning, it's not really a hiking trail, but rather a service road. But the closer you get to the Kale peak, the more beautiful the trail becomes. You hike across a beautiful mountain meadow to the summit and can enjoy the view. Especially in spring, the meadows are still beautifully green, and the flowers are in bloom.

Cable car was closed for a long time due to Corona but is now running again. From here a nice hike to the Matka Canyon is signposted.
