There is a lot of history in this canyon about the people who live there as well as geological history. Traces above the canyon indicate that a castle stood there (stone stairway/stone wall). Underneath there is apparently a rampart. The stones for the castle were probably mined in the canyon itself. Traces of processing can still be seen on the rock walls and surrounding rocks. It's also a mystical place.

A landscape like from another time. The Marderbach ripples along between high rocks next to us. Lined by tall spruce trees, we feel transported to another time. The only thing missing is that a dinosaur crosses our path.
