The Zeitzgrund is a beautiful gravel road. Here, 🦊 and 🦔 say "goodnight." The paper mill and goat mill are worth a visit, but they're not open all day. The goat mill offers brewery tours, and the "Holzländer" 🍺 is a real blast.

The Warnsdorfgrund is a narrow valley with umpteen ponds and here and there a nice seating area to linger.

Can be reached quickly even on foot and there are also some sand toys for the little ones.

Finally, a tip. If you are out and about by bike, take a mountain bike. The route is not necessarily suitable for city or touring bikes ...

Today I was at a rather unknown highlight. The Amselfall near Dorna is probably so unknown because it is also quite unspectacular. A small stream spring that flows over a stone. Nevertheless, the way there, difficult as it is, is the goal. You drive via Stadtroda, take the sculpture trail, then over the bridge over the A4, and turn right at the next intersection. The way is signposted. The Amselfall lies in a ravine, almost a bit like in the fairy tale forest, it smells wonderfully of mushrooms and forest. The ascent to dorna is quite steep. Very nice valley, but not on a racing bike, please. The surface is muddy or dry, at least with a lot of rubble, i.e. on foot or with wide tires.

Unfortunately, the surface is getting a bit old. The descent from Hermsdorf should be approached slowly, as there are always a few cross gullies. Contrary to other opinions, the Zeitzgrund is easily accessible by racing bike up to the Janismühle. You have to have a good day because sometimes there are too many visitors (similar to the Mühltal).
