Although various prohibition signs restrict access to Lake Meinhard, which is part of the local campsite, there are still some beautiful views with benches overlooking the former gravel pit in the Werra Valley.

A great, asphalted cycle path that leads past the fishing ponds of the ASV Eschwege and the Meinhardsee.

The area of today's "Neun Brunnen", located south of the town of Heiligenstadt in the Pferdebach valley, was first documented in 1634. It got its name from the nine springs (Neun Börner). The area is still rich in springs today, although the exact number is not known. As early as the 19th century, the area of the "Neun Brunnen" was a popular destination for Heiligenstadt families. People would meet up in company and have picnics. People could make their own coffee to accompany their meals. Gastronomy has been in operation since around 1880.

Absolutely recommended. Whether on foot or by bike. 😎

The Bruchteiche near Bad Sooden-Allendorf are ideal for leisurely circular walks (approx. 2km). You can also include them in the longer P7 circuit (15km). Numerous benches invite you to linger and enjoy the banks of the pond.

Unfortunately, in many places it smells very strongly of foul gases or similar.
