At the "Alte Jeetzel" there's not only a bench for a break, but also a shelter. This is perfectly suitable for bikepackers and cycle tourists, but also as a short-term shelter when it starts to rain.

This small hut with a bench in front of it stands on the side of the road between Dübbekold and Nieperfitz, next to a small pond. It's ideal for taking a break on a hike or bike ride. It's very quiet here.

Regarding Angie P's tip: I have to disagree, it doesn't matter. I experienced a night with a thunderstorm while hiking on the Elbe Höhenweg, lightning struck only about 30 m away. I ended up there because another "refuge" marked on the map didn't even exist. Otherwise, the paths with changing views of the Elbe are definitely worthwhile. The only thing I would do the entire Elbe Crest Trail next time is by bike and not on foot.
