a very beautiful place

Completely "polluted" with water lettuce. No water to be seen anymore. Visually impressive but not good for flora and fauna. Still a very nice destination with a bench and shelter

In the wild: "A turtle needs 10 - 15 years until it becomes sexually mature. After mating, the clutch (about 8 - 15 eggs) is buried in the mud on the bank, the young then hatch after 60 - 80 days. The pond turtle mainly eats animal food ( worms, snails, insects, spiders, fish and their fry and carrion). Swamp turtles are the only turtles native to Germany. Their existence is endangered because the natural biotopes are being destroyed. I like coming here at any time of the year. A small path leads around the lake from which you can observe water life.

The lake is really beautiful. We went on a Saturday morning and it was so wonderfully quiet. The bank invites you to take a little rest.
