The old boathouse on Lake Seeburg may be demolished. The Higher Administrative Court of Lüneburg (OVG) has rejected an application by the municipality of Seeburg for an interim injunction against the district of Göttingen.

The approximately 13 hectare reservoir "Glockengraben Teistungen" is 1 km east of Teistungen. It was completed in 1986 as a service water reservoir for agriculture. Its location in the former restricted area resulted in the settlement of a species-rich flora and fauna. After the border was opened, the idyll for rare animal and plant species was suddenly threatened by water sports enthusiasts and day trippers. Intensive agriculture endangered the water quality of the lake.
