The water pump had not been used for a while. After some pumping, a rust-red broth came out of the tap - after a little more pumping, the water became clear and drinkable again! If you wanted to be on the safe side, you could take a self-service beer from the crate - for 1 EUR in the trust register.

The background to the beautiful and group-friendly rest area "Fillerkuhle" may not be quite as appetizing for many animal lovers. Because the peeling of the fur from dead animals was called "filling". Hence the name of the rest area. The name goes back to a cave for animal carcasses that was formerly located at the rear of the hut. Here the carcasses of dead cows, horses and other animals from the animal husbandry were cut up, boiled and refined into glue or curd soap. The leftovers were then processed into animal feed.
