The WaldSeehotel Wirchensee is picturesquely located on an almost island between Stubbensee and Wirchensee. Beautiful. You can stop here for a break or – if you are on a multi-day hike – spend the night. You can find further information and opening times here: https://hotel-wirchensee.de/.

A charcoal burner's place with a foam piler and a charcoal burner's hut was recreated here. This is not a forest hut or a rest area, as previously written here. Very informative displays explain that charcoal was produced on a large scale in this area centuries ago. Very interesting, especially since you can also find evidence of such former charcoal burners in the forest. Some are marked.
