ギフホルン郡ヴィッティンゲンの一地区であるクネーゼベックのミュールンタイヒは、深い歴史的ルーツを持つ牧歌的な水域です。この水域は、地元の水車小屋の歴史と、かつてのクネーゼベック城に密接に関連しています。かつては、クネーゼベックとその周辺の小川沿いには最大7つの水車小屋があり、今日でも「Fünf Mühlen」（例えば、リュッチェミューレ、クルムミューレ、シュタックマンスミューレなど）という文脈で語られることがよくあります。

シュテューデ（ザッセンブルク町、ギフホルン郡）にあるベルンシュタイン湖は、ヴォルフスブルクとギフホルン近郊の人気のあるレクリエーションエリアです。1971年、エルベ側運河の建設中に浚渫湖として誕生しました。その名前は、発掘中に「真っ白な」砂の中から見つかった生の琥珀に由来します。
