As of 2024-12-20 The shelter is currently closed. Clearly, subsidence of the terrain has caused damage to the outer shell and the intermediate floor of the building. It's a shame, but it's a former mining site.

Small observation tower on a small hill. Let's see how the area develops here and whether there will be a continuous path. As of April 2024, everything here is closed and the path is a dead end.

Great view and idyllic peace.

A charcoal burner's place with a foam piler and a charcoal burner's hut was recreated here. This is not a forest hut or a rest area, as previously written here. Very informative displays explain that charcoal was produced on a large scale in this area centuries ago. Very interesting, especially since you can also find evidence of such former charcoal burners in the forest. Some are marked.

The area has been beautifully modeled and planted. Entry bans (signs) should be observed, after all, this area has only recently been compacted. Otherwise just enjoy the peace and solitude there. In the hut, a wooden staircase goes up one floor and rustic wooden flaps can be opened from the inside and the view of the future Baltic Sea can be experienced. From the B 97 left past the wind farm, you come to the hut on a gravel / gravel path without any obstacles. From the opposite direction (from the Groß Lieskow memorial on the open pit water canal) the initially paved, but then graveled path leads to a barrier which can be "bypassed".

Since the beginning of 2018 there has been a group of Royal Rangers scouts belonging to the Salvation Army in Guben. Your camp can be found here in the forest near the Kaltenborn spring, a really lovingly laid out place that invites you to linger and play.
