A wonderful 1,000 hectare pond landscape with countless species of water birds, such as whooper and mute swans, herons, swimming and diving ducks and sea eagles. Unfortunately, this idyll is marred by the fact that the private owner regularly organizes "waterfowl hunts" here, especially for mallards.

For the tour you need some time, good shoes and always an eye for the beautiful nature.

In addition to the parking lot, there is a rest/shelter and bicycle racks. Everything is conveniently located on the cycle/hiking path, which leads, for example, around the Bautzen dam.

Quiet rest area, whether as a starting point (there is a small parking lot here) or just to take a break and have something to drink and eat. A dry and wind-protected place even in autumn.

The lake is beautiful and also the tent and campsite is beautiful! That you have to pay should probably be fine if a lake is managed. There is also a slide there and of course all this costs money. Absolutely okay! There has been a new operator on the site since 2021 and he is trying his best to breathe new life into the place... Of course, investments have to be made here too. Nevertheless, the place is highly recommended, we come by more often now

It's a wonderfully quiet area. Very pleasant for cyclists and a detour to the right and left of the ponds is good for the soul.
