This beautiful, small shelter (with table) of the PWV Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach used to be a few meters further up. After major pipeline excavation work, the traces of which can still be seen everywhere here, it was moved about 50 - 100 m. (As of Nov. 2024) This shelter is not to be confused with the large bar hut of the PWV Klingenmünster (big festival on May Day!), which is located very close by a little further down.

This is one of the more than 300 knight stones of the Palatinate Forest Association; it bears the detailed inscription "Karlsplatz, Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach, 10 years of PWV 1992". NOTE for knight stone fans: There is also a signpost "Karlsplatz" (inscribed on both sides). This stands next to 3 benches (with a view down to the large Karlsplatz hut) and is NOT a knight stone! ADDENDUM from Nov. 2024: The knight stone was temporarily lying on the ground due to excavation work (pipeline laying) - and has now been put back up. However, it is in a different place, namely directly next to a signpost and the turnoff to Abtskopf (i.e. diagonally opposite the original location, which was on the other side of the path).
