The path has a thick layer of leaves and lots of hidden sticks and tree trunks. The trail is covered with a thick layer of leaves that hides a lot of tree debris and some large logs.

Hiking on legendary tracks! Natural meadow valleys, quiet forest areas, rolling fields, bizarre stone formations and the wild Elendsklamm are among the highlights of the 17 kilometer long quality trail. The legendary forest path leads over the Sickinger Höhe and the foothills of the Palatinate Forest. On this tour you will be rewarded with views of the North Palatinate Uplands, the neighboring Saarland, as well as the direction of Zweibrücken and the Westrich moorland. Twelve stations along the way tell of old legends and stories and illustrate interesting facts from the region. Through the natural monument Elendsklamm and the beginning of the Sickinger Höhe with the pigeon head on the German premium hiking trail. Impressive gorge with a “primeval forest”, which is a unique habitat for rare animal and plant species. The path along the gorge is well developed and secured with railings, bridges and steps. When inspecting in late autumn and winter, make sure that you have weather-appropriate equipment. In midsummer the gorge offers a welcome cool hiking trail.

The "legendary forest path complete is 16.4 km long and has 360 m. It is divided into 3 sections and has access from Bruchmühlbach, Vogelbach, Lambsborn and the Fritz-Claus-Hütte in Martinshöhe.
