A little further east of the lock is the gorge path, at the foot of which there is a small waterfall. Well, waterfall means that water falls here. It only falls about half a meter... but it falls.

The Karlstal Gorge offers young (circular hiking trail) and old (walking trail) the opportunity to enjoy this historic site. It surprises with a refreshing stay on hot days in a beautiful setting; it also changes its look with the play of incoming rays of sun, trees and the flow of water. After prolonged rainfall, make sure you wear good shoes/change of shoes ;-). Unfortunately, the Karlstal Gorge is often very busy during the holiday season, as it is very well known.
