Simply beautiful to look at

The approximately 19 hectare[1] large Lahder Marsch nature reserve is located in the natural area of the Weser valley about one kilometer south of the Lahde district of the city of Petershagen and is part of the EU bird sanctuary "Weseraue".[1] As a part of this bird sanctuary, the Lahder Marsch is part of the Natura 2000 network of special protection areas in accordance with the FFH Directive.

The lake landscape near Hävern is a beautiful nature reserve in the natural area of the Wesertal between the districts of Hävern and Großenheerse in the town of Petershagen. The area extends over 104 hectares and is part of the EC bird sanctuary "Weseraue". The former gravel ponds are now biotopes for water birds and offer a picturesque backdrop for walks and exploration.

A detour to the Lavelsloher See is worthwhile, a nice place for a break or for a walk around the lake.

The lake landscape around Hävern is fascinating. Over the years, a unique wet biotope with an unbelievable variety of flora and fauna has emerged from the quarry ponds of yesteryear. And right in the middle is the pretty Weser village of Hävern with well-kept farms, lively cultural life and many storks.
