Climbing the 92 m high Brelinger Berg is beautiful

The tower was built in 1846-1848 under Prince Georg of Schaumburg-Lippe for land surveying. Other sources say that the tower was commissioned by Princess Ida of Schaumburg-Lippe as a job creation measure for the starving population. The Brelinger Berg was piled up to a height of 92 meters during the Saale Ice Age around 230,000 years ago. It is located in beautiful Wedemark. There is a landscape protection area around the mountain to restore the animal and plant world that has been affected by the heavy sand and gravel quarrying. On the summit of the Brelinger Berg there is a Gauss stone, which commemorates the land survey carried out by the mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss in 1828.
