Located directly on the banks of the Rhine, this simple shelter offers hikers and cyclists a welcome place to rest. From here, you have a magnificent view of the wide river and the surrounding floodplain. The shelter provides protection from rain or sun and is an ideal spot to enjoy the tranquility of nature. Important note: There is no garbage collection here – please take your rubbish with you to help keep the nature reserve clean.

The spacious Habstalhütte on the edge of the forest offers good and sheltered opportunities for a rest. Around the hut there are also several other seating areas (tables and benches), a playground and barbecue areas. From up here there are great views of the village of Bahlingen, the mountain slopes of the eastern Kaiserstuhl with vineyards, orchards, groups of trees and strips of wood as well as loess walls, other places in the Breisgau and the mountains of the Upper Black Forest.
