beautiful recreation area near Pretzfeld

The town of Pautzfeld was first mentioned in documents in 1129 as "Butesfeld". At that time, the town belonged to the parish of St. Martin Forchheim. On September 2nd, 1370, Pautzfeld was elevated to an independent parish by the establishment of a mass benefice and was an independent parish until the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). From then on, the parish was looked after from Seußling until 1751. The church was redesigned during this period. The small Gothic fortified church was enlarged to the west and at the same time given a Baroque makeover. This conversion took place in 1710/11. The Gothic choir dates back to the 14th century and is the oldest part of the church.

The Pretzfeld Cherry Trail takes you past here. It is particularly enchanting when the cherry blossoms are in spring.

The hiking trail is partially permitted on a path through the company premises. Not a given, and one more reason to stay on the paths.

After visiting the Franconian by bike, there is a small rest area here. Here you can listen to the splashing of the water and watch the ducks swimming. And if you're thirsty, there's a beer garden next door.

The pond is idyllically embedded in the forest and you will find a covered rest area here that invites you to linger and relax.
