The refuge is located between the towns of Kirchwistedt, Ahe and Altwistedt. Certainly also suitable for bike packers.

The Temple Mount takes its name from the tumulus at the same location. It is nothing more than a small sand hill. Decades ago the heather house stood there. From the hill you could see a small pond surrounded by heather. Today there is a small refuge with a resting place. The pond is no longer there. But still an idyllic place. Also ideal for cyclists.

New refuge (2021), four sides closed, open door and window, no interior, ideal for overnight stays. Beautiful forest on one side and a great view over wide meadows with migrating swans, geese and cranes.
