Beautiful, well-kept hiking trails around the Malberg. Goats are currently grazing there to keep the impassable parts free.

This rest area - both a hut and a bench/table combination and another wooden lounger outside - is located just above the Laacher See.

With such a literary highlight, I absolutely have to quote the humorist Heinz Erhardt (1909–1979), whom I highly respect and who was known to a wide audience for his wordplay and "Another Poem": "I once found a finch's nest, and in it lay the remains of a crime novel.
