The Kuhmühle (Cow Mill) has been documented since 1291. Because the Kuhbach stream had a steep gradient here, it was possible to operate a mill with a single shaft. Today, the mill is owned by the architect Gerhard Klindworth, who not only runs an architectural office here, but also a hotel and restaurant. However, prices are on the very high side, so a stopover here is probably not suitable for hikers, especially since it only opens in the evening.

If you are on the north path Ostetal, you should definitely not miss the small detour to this idyllic lake. He lies there quietly and peacefully. Apart from the chirping of the birds and the occasional "blopp" when a fish briefly jumps out of the water, you don't hear anything. First you come to a small hut with a rest area. If you go a little further along the path, you will find two benches. At the end of the path there is a small old bridge. Then take the same route back to the north path. Many thanks to the owner! We spent a nice break here.

Marl was once mined here. This rock typically consists primarily of limestone and clay. It was used in agriculture to improve drained moors and swamps. A fossilized mammoth tooth was discovered here during mining. Today, an idyllic lake sits here.

You pass the mill when you cycle or hike the Zevener Mühlenroute! Really a very recommendable route! The north path, two mills long, also leads here! This place really invites you to relax!
