Anyone who follows the trail here must be aware that it ends up becoming a real via ferrata. The beginning of the trail is like a beautiful mountain hiking trail. Towards the end, however, you need to be absolutely sure-footed and wear good shoes, especially on the descent, even if it is only a short stretch. The scenery is of course very attractive. 🧗🙂

The "Ofnet caves" are natural karst caves and the remains of an underground karst system on the crater rim of the Nördlinger Ries. You are on the south-western part of the nearly two-kilometer-long Riegelberg – a limestone ridge that is also known as the “Himmelreich”. Archaeological finds indicate that the caves were inhabited from the Middle Paleolithic to the Mesolithic.
