Very nice place at Silbersee, with rest bench

Beautiful little town with around 2500 inhabitants and the centre of the Schönsee region, a popular holiday and excursion destination. The Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Trail runs through Schönsee. It connects the towns of Nabburg and Horšovský Týn. From the former Schönsee train station, it runs as a cycle and hiking trail on the former railway line from Schönsee to Nabburg. There are two observation towers nearby, the observation tower on the Stückberg (808 m) and the Bohemian Forest Tower on the Weingartnerfels (896 m). Since March 2006, the Centrum Bavaria Bohemia (CeBB) has been located in the former communal brewery in the town of Schönsee, a Bavarian-Bohemian cultural centre to promote cross-border German-Czech relations with exhibitions for bobbin lace, concerts, readings and other events.

Schönsee is a town in the northeast of the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria.

On the outskirts of Tiefenbach you will find the refreshing forest bath in idyllic nature. Swimmers do their laps, children romp around in the shallows and there is a separate paddling area for the little ones. All of this is embedded in lush greenery and dominated by natural stones. There is no entrance fee and the water is free of chemical additives.
