Many rare bird species can be observed up close and undisturbed here. When long periods of frost cover the numerous lakes along the Danube valley with a solid layer of ice, the reservoir is hectically busy. Swimming birds gather in large flocks to survive the ice periods on the last open water surfaces. With a little luck, you will then spot a sea eagle hunting or hear the far-reaching call of the whooper swans. Let yourself be enchanted by nature! Swimming is strictly prohibited here!

This sign is appropriate for the Hülbe. However, access to it is not easy. A narrow path very close to the bank leads there. In bad weather there is a danger of slipping into the water.

Nice tour through the English Forest to Thurn and Taxis Castle. Which of course could NOT be visited.

The English forest has the magical energy of bygone times. Very nice.

English Forest is part of Castle Taxis. Unfortunately, it is more or less left to its own devices and its "heydays" are behind it for the time being. At the small lake there used to be e.g. water lilies. But maybe that will change at some point...
