A well-maintained spa park in Kreischa is perfect for relaxation, with a large pond and fountain, a watermill, plenty of seating, and more. The Lockwitzbach stream babbles and rushes along here. Info: Thanks to extensive reconstruction, the spa park regained its historic appearance from 1837 in 1998. A former manor house (now the municipal administration building), an impressive and diverse woodland, and a park pond, which, as a design focal point, blends harmoniously into the landscape both ecologically and aesthetically. The spa park forms a single entity with the wooded slopes surrounding the hospital – the so-called Badebusch (bathing bush).

Nestled in the romantic Lockwitz Valley and surrounded by the mountain ranges of the eastern Ore Mountains and the richly wooded foothills of the Ore Mountains, there is Kreischa, the starting point and destination of today's hike. Kreischa can look back on a long and eventful history. It was first mentioned in the 13th century. The municipality with its 15 districts now has over 4,400 inhabitants and is very popular as a place to live and work. The largest employers in the region are the Kliniken Bavaria in Kreischa, which are among the largest rehabilitation centers in Germany and can look after up to 1,000 patients.
