Tiefenbach Waterfall near Altenberg. Information: Located at approximately 660 meters above sea level, it was artificially created in 1954. The stamp station is no longer located on-site due to two instances of theft. You can obtain a stamp at the tourist information office in Altenberg by presenting a photo from your visit to the waterfall.

The Forellensteig trail is very rustic and natural. A small connecting road runs above it, but you can't see it from the Forellensteig trail. The Gottleuba River flowing by is simply beautiful.

The Tiefenbach waterfall is an artificial waterfall located between Geising and Altenberg. The waterfall is located above Geising on the road to Altenberg at about 660 meters above sea level and was created in 1954. It falls in two stages with a total drop of about 40 meters, separated by a short, flatter section. This makes it one of the highest waterfalls in Saxony. The upper part falls about 15 to 20 meters freely and can be seen from a viewing platform that is accessible from the road on a hiking trail. The Wilischbach meanders for about 4.5 kilometers through a wooded valley to its mouth in the Lockwitzbach at the Teufelsmühle. In addition to its role in the wild and romantic landscape design, the Wilischbach also serves as an important drainage channel for the region. On its way, it impresses with moss-covered rock formations and small waterfalls, especially along the popular hiking trail through the Wilischgrund.

This Tiefenbach waterfall is a very beautiful natural experience. It is located between Geising and Altenberg, a very nice hiking tour 👌 From the rehabilitation clinic to Geisingberg, into the town of Geising, waterfall, Altenberg mining trail, caterpillar nest, wooden figure trail and back to the rehabilitation clinic.
