Solidified magma from the Earth's interior. The 30-meter-long and 90-cm-thick Devil's Wall was formed by volcanic activity approximately 14 to 7 million years ago. It can be reached from the "Teufelseck" mountain hut.

Nature Friends House of NatureFriends Bad Emstal The house is a self-catering house with 41 beds. In addition to a perfect location, the house has many amenities, such as free WiFi and a well-equipped kitchen. The highlight of the house is the historic bakery, where bread is regularly baked like in the days of great-grandmothers. It has 2 lounges and 1 youth room. There is a fully equipped self-catering kitchen in the house and above the house there is a fire hut, a fire pit, a playground with a lawn for sunbathing and a campsite with extra showers, toilets and a camping kitchen. The environmental laboratory was added in 2020. The solar thermal hot water supply ensures comfort even in winter and is just one building block for environmentally friendly living and working in the Naturfreundehaus Bad Emstal. We spent a weekend here with 18 people as part of a seminar. Everything is available in the kitchen. The seminar room is large and the two of us divided into four rooms. The large square above the house is really nice for activities and to linger. Also for breaks during a hike. You can start various hikes from the door.
