The Springhoe estate in the municipality of Lockstedt is now a stud farm. You can walk past the beautiful clock tower and admire the manor house from the park-like grounds.

There used to be a water mill on the mill pond at Springhoe Estate. In 1899 the farm buildings and the mill burned down, and in 1902 the buildings were rebuilt with the exception of the mill. The mill pond was later used for carp farming.

There used to be a water mill there, which was first mentioned in a document in 1148. It soon came into the possession of Itzehoe Abbey, and for the villages of Overndorf and Grönhude, which were also owned by the abbey - today districts of Kellinghusen - there was a mill obligation to Springhoe. The Lohmühlenteich in Hohenlockstedt is a pond in the district of Steinburg in Schleswig-Holstein that used to be used as a mill pond. It's around four acres. Since 1963, the pond and part of its surroundings have been under landscape protection. A nature trail of around one kilometer in length leads around it. Along with the Große Tonkuhle in Itzehoe and the Luisenbad in Schenefeld, the bathing area on the shore is one of three bathing areas in the district of Steinburg located on still waters, whose bathing waters are continuously examined for water quality due to EU regulations.
