The Bingenheimer Ried nature reserve (identification number 1440019) is located in the Horloff-Aue west of Bingenheim, a district of the municipality of Echzell in the Wetterau district of Hesse. It is part of the Wetterau floodplain network landscape conservation area in the European Natura 2000 protected area network and is part of the Wetterau grassland area FFH area. Designated as a nature reserve in 1985 (StAnz 1985(3): 204), Bingenheimer Ried is the heart of the Wetterau floodplain network and an important nature reserve in Hesse.

An important refuge for many animal species. Now during the breeding season, all kinds of feathered friends can be observed: Gray and Egyptian geese, coots, garganey ducks, wigeons, pintails, mallards, gadwalls, grebes and much more...
