This section of the Elster cycle path is not suitable for cyclists. You have to get off at this point and lift your bike up. It is better to head straight for the Pöhl dam and then return to the cycle path via Pöhl.

Between Greiz and Elsterberg, the White Elster forms a wild, romantic valley in the area of the mouth of the Göltzsch river and further in the direction of Rothenthal. No hiker staying in this region should miss the steep, rocky slopes. This section is quite rightly called the Rothenthal Alps. Easily doable with a mountain bike, but not so much with a bike trailer ;) Had to get off at one point because it was too narrow and steep.
