Rungstock is a forest area and nature reserve between Olbernhau and Ansprung. The name originally derives from "Rohnstock" (tree stump), but was later reinterpreted as "Runge" (pole on a wagon). Rungstock is an important area for near-natural beech forests and is home to a variety of plants and animals.
