The Töpfer (582 m) is an extensive sandstone mountain with a flat, wooded summit located on the northern edge of the Zittau Mountains about 1.5 km northeast of Oybin and 1.5 km south of the upper part of Olbersdorf.

On August 5, 2024, there was a note with the opening hours: Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. When we climbed up, well, that wasn't that often, it was always closed.

Unfortunately, the restaurant is “hardly” still open. Opening times can be requested by telephone. A spontaneous stop is hardly possible anymore. Be sure to pay attention to the notices on the main path ascent.

In 1959 the Waldhaus in Höllengrund was rebuilt as a small forest restaurant for consumption. The municipality finally took it over in 1966 before it returned to private hands in 1981. In 1996 it came back into the possession of the municipality, which had to extensively renovate the forest house after storm damage. The Waldhaus e. V. was founded, which takes care of the maintenance and organization of festivals around the Waldhaus.
