The "Jungfernloch" (Jungfern Hole) is a quiet spot with a small cottage and a deep forest pond in front of it. Unfortunately, today (May 1, 2024), no reflection could be seen because the water surface was not clear enough. Legend has it that a maiden from Homberg Castle drowned here along with her white horse many hundreds of years ago.

The Schweinsberger Moor is one of the last primeval landscapes in Central Europe. It has been under nature protection since 1977. It is the largest contiguous reed area in central and northern Hesse. When the breeding season starts again, there will definitely be a lot of birds to observe here.
